As an accomplished
swimmer, a much higher than normal IQ, a great career and
a wealth of creative ability, you would think self esteem
and confidence would not be an issue for me…boy would
you be wrong!
I had it tough as kid with my mum telling me every day
that I was stupid, fat and ugly. When you hear things
like that every day, even though they are not true, you
believe them so wholeheartedly that you actually become
that horrible image and take on all of the emotional and
physical baggage that goes with the misconception of being
fat, ugly and stupid. This belief saw the beginning of
the decline of my self-esteem.
As an adult, for a long time I have not been happy with
my weight or my self esteem and confidence, even though
I have realised now that I am not stupid or ugly. However,
since retiring from swimming, getting married to a couch-potato
and changing my lifestyle, I have indeed grown fat –
a whopping extra 35 kg to be exact. And, no matter what
diet I tried it didn’t work long-term, because I
wasn’t addressing the underlying issues.
So, as a Christmas present to myself, I went to see Clinical
Hypnotherapist Cheryl Bridges at Pinpoint. I wasn’t
too sure what to expect, but certainly went there with
an open mind.
Cheryl is a very gifted lady. The first session encompassed
us talking about what the issues were and Cheryl asking
a heap of questions which linked back to the underlying
causes of my weight gain and lack of confidence as well
as ‘going under’ hypnosis.
When under hypnosis, you just feel ultra relaxed but
completely alert and aware of what’s happening –
it’s not like what you see on TV at all –
definitely no chicken clucking going on there!.
I visualised myself as a confident and slim person, now
and well into the future – I even saw myself in
a range of fabulous outfits – that’s how well
the hypnosis worked.
Since seeing Cheryl, I no longer eat junk food, or eat
when I am emotional. I exercise and I have accepted myself
as being a pretty cool and talented person – it’s
only taken me 38 years and Cheryl’s guidance to
help me be myself and love myself!
I am confident, my self esteem is escalating and my weight
is declining (I have lost 7.5 kg in 7 weeks!)
I think hypnotherapy is a very powerful, yet under-rated
tool to help you use your mind and inner strength a lot
more effectively than you can at a conscious level. I
will be going back to see Cheryl to try and also overcome
my claustrophobia and fear of spiders, as well at to get
a tune-up every now and then.
Please do your self a favour and tune into your mind
using hypnosis. I think you will be quite amazed at what
you can achieve – it’s like a spring cleaning
of your mind….out with the old and in with the new!

“In an effort to overcome general anxiety issues
among a host of other 'niglies', I had tried many different
types of therapies before I decided to try hypnotherapy.
I, like so many others, was a bit sceptical and was under
the false pretence that I would somehow be lured into
a semi-conscious state where I would not be aware of what
I was saying or doing. I therefore believed it would be
quite possible that I would end up 'clucking like a chicken'
and revealing my deepest darkest secrets. I finally overcame
my slightly (sarcasm intended) skewed visions however,
and took the bold step to try it out, and I have been
grateful ever since!
Hypnotherapy, for me, combines the best of all therapies
and taps right into the source of any and every issue
- the subconscious mind. Whilst in a heavenly relaxed
state, Cheryl's soothing voice helps re-program those
terribly negative blocks in my subconscious mind, freeing
me of the heavy burdens I so desperately wanted to rid
myself of. This remarkable breakthrough amazed me and
left me feeling fantastic for the first time in a long
time. I have since been spreading the word of Cheryl's
wonderful work; I find it hard to believe more people
aren't aware of such a powerful and readily available
resource.
In my opinion, it is certainly money well spent to clear
and harmonize my state of mind, and the effects are widely
spread: positive improvements in personal relationships,
self-worth and self-confidence, career promotions and
peace of mind. Take the step; be ready to open your mind
to the possibilities and the prospect of feeling truly
happy.”

“I had tried
all of the more conventional methods to quit smoking, but
none seemed to work for me. However, after a session with
Cheryl I finally kicked my 20 year dependence on cigarettes.
I walked in a smoker and walked out a non-smoker! I am finally
free of the shackles of smoking.

"At first I was a little sceptical about the benefits
of hypnosis, however, now I am a complete convert! I was
approaching my 40th birthday and thought I would try to
banish cigarettes from my life once and for all. I had
a hypnotherapy session and haven't had a cigarette since.
That was over 12mths ago and I feel great!"
